digital cinema – minimum glossary

 

 

D-C-M: Data Centric Model. A definition of digital cinema in its broadest sense.  In fact it indicates a model based on the use of data, as opposed to the Film-Centric Model, based on the use of film. 

 

DCDM: Digital Cinema Distribution Master, the copy used for distribution.

 

DCP: Digital Cinema Package, The “packaging” of the digital film (corresponding to the reel in 35 mm.)

 

DSM: Digital Source Master, the original digital copy.

 

LSDI: Large Screen Digital Imagery. Indicates E-Cinema.
